Nail Surgery
An ingrown toenail is a curved nail that grows into the skin, usually at the sides of the nail. This can irritate the skin, often creating pain, redness, swelling, and warmth in the toe, and sometimes may cause bacterial infection.
Try these treatments:
Soak the foot in warm water 3–4 times daily.
Keep the foot dry during the rest of the day.
Wear comfortable shoes with adequate room for the toes. Consider wearing sandals until the condition clears up.
Visiting a podiatrist regularly.
Warm water saline.
No need to suffer from constant ingrown toe nails!
Sometimes a simple one hour surgical procedure under local anaesthetic performed in the clinic can remove the ingrown portion of the nail and prevent that part of the nail growing again. Our podiatrist will tell you if you are suitable for nail surgery. Contact us to find out if this is suitable for you.
